CQ WW DX CW 2022

We had plans for a serious Multi-One entry but… The feeder of the top 20m meters Yagi was damaged. At first we were trying to repair it on the tower, replacing the feeder but it was impossible finally. It all happened on Friday before the contest.

So we decided to put down the tower on Saturday. We worked hard all Saturday – the tower was down, antennas removed, feeders replaced. On Sunday we placed antennas on the tower and we put up the tower again. In the meantime one of us (mostly Peter SQ5JUP) was operating the contest – but of course without 20 meters.

At the and of Sunday our 20 meters stacker was ready again and we even managed to make CQ and have short but very nice RUN on 20 meters. But it was the end of propagation window.

Here is the final score:

Band QSOs Pts ZN Cty Pt/Q
   1,8 64 102 15 63 1,6
   3,5 664 1088 30 101 1,6
     7 1724 3851 39 130 2,2
    14 292 737 23 67 2,5
    21 999 2350 36 127 2,4
    28 245 453 33 112 1,8
 Total 3988 8581 176 600 2,2
Score: 6 658 856

As you can imagine it is impossible to have a good score without 20 meters antennas. So this year contest was rather like a training. The next good thing is that all high towers and antennas were renewed during last months.

So… CU in the contest next year…
